I did try Dental Care of South Aiken first, forget it. I made an appointment and they claimed they called me to cancel it. They wanted me to reschedule for 3 months later ! BS
Bela Family went above and beyond, saw me the next day for a consult and then two days later the tooth was out ! Plenty of treatment options to choose from. The dentist was personable, friendly and professional. Will work with you to fit your needs while addressing your concerns.
The staff, amazing, you can tell they all work together seamlessly.
I don’t know who does the hiring, but they are all pretty. They even have a new dentist there now to accommodate more patients.
I highly recommend them if you are serious about your teeth.

Meet Dr. Oliver Spaeth, DDS
Dr. Oliver Spaeth, DDS has joined the Bela Family Dentistry practice in Aiken.
Dr. Spaeth provides general restoration, crown and bridge, non-molar endodontics, implant restoration, simple and surgical extractions, Clear Correct aligners, oral sedation, nightguards/occlusal guards, whitening, dentures/partials, and cosmetic dentistry. He currently also offers both Botox and Filler.
“I love removable prosthodontics and once had an onsite mobile dental business that provided dental care to the residents of long-term care nursing homes in southern Colorado,” Dr. Spaeth said. “My passion is making a positive impact on the lives of people who trust me with caring for their dental needs. Seeing what a difference we can make is rewarding.”
After graduating dental school in 2004, Dr. Spaeth worked in Tucson, Ariz., in a corporate dental office for three years. He and his wife then moved to Colorado Springs, Colo., where he was a solo practitioner and private practice owner for 15 years.
“When I was 6 years old, I decided I wanted to be just like our family dentist, Dr. McIntosh,” he said. “He was kind, gentle and funny and seemed to be very happy and love his life. I wanted that too while being able to help people.”
Dr. Spaeth and his wife, Meghan, live locally with their daughter, Anika, and son, Landon. He spends a lot of time traveling to horse shows with Anika and playing golf and tennis with Landon. Dr. Spaeth enjoys the outdoors and enjoys fishing or hunting with Landon and his father.
Meet Dr. Mark Thogode, DMD
Dr. Mark Thogode has been passionate about dentistry since he was just eight years old. When his mother experienced severe tooth pain, Dr. Thogode remembers feeling helpless and wishing he could do something to help her. That experience stayed with him and ultimately inspired his lifelong commitment to becoming a dentist and helping others.
Dr. Thogode earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Temple University School of Dentistry in 1991. Throughout his career, he has found the greatest reward in the relationships he builds with his patients and the gratification of seeing the difference quality dental care can make in their lives. He believes in taking the time to truly care about his patients and wants each person he treats to know they are more than just a name on an appointment schedule.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Thogode enjoys spending time with his wife, Carol Ann, and their three sons, Tyler, Travis, and Trey, as well as their growing family, including their daughter-in-law. Family time is especially important to him, and they enjoy spending time together outdoors whenever they can.
Now calling Wagener, South Carolina, home, Dr. Thogode has plenty of space to enjoy his love of the outdoors—and his rather unique animal family, which includes horses, dogs, a pig, and even a donkey! A New Jersey native, he is a proud New York Giants fan and has a special connection to USC, as two of his sons attended the university.
An avid traveler, Dr. Thogode counts Alaska and Norway among some of his favorite destinations. When he’s not traveling, you might find him walking, fishing, enjoying the mountains, reading a good book, or simply spending time outside.
When he’s relaxing, Dr. Thogode enjoys a cup of tea, savory foods, and listening to AC/DC or watching The Matrix. And in a fun fact that may surprise his patients, he can ride a unicycle and has an impressive ability to remember movie lines—even decades later!
For Dr. Thogode, dentistry is about much more than treating teeth. It’s about helping people, building genuine relationships, and making sure every patient feels truly cared for.
