5 Ways We Make Dentistry Convenient and Comfortable for You

The days of orthodonture machines have long-since passed, thanks in part to the invention of the reclining dentist chair in 1958.

Sixty years later, levels of technology, knowledge, and service in the dental industry have only improved at an increasingly faster rate.

Here at Family Dentistry of Edgefield, we believe it is our duty to stay on the cusp of that innovation. Service, compassion, and trust is our office motto.

And it pays off. Patients have told us that when they visit the office, our friendly, attentive staff always make them feel like family.

Both Dr. Cook and Dr. Hall are passionate about the dental field. Together, alongside the rest of our Edgefield staff, they have created a clean, professional office with a warm, caring environment.

Here are just a few ways we strive to make a convenient and comfortable dental experience for you during each and every visit:

We believe an informed patient is a comfortable patient. We want to make sure you understand exactly what is happening and what to expect for each step of the process during your time in the chair. We like to leave the business of surprises to circus performers and mystery novels.

We are proud of our team for continually advancing their education so that they can provide patients with the best possible experience.

Dr. Cook continues to train at the Seattle Institute and Scottsdale Center for Dentistry to build his foundation for delivering comprehensive dentistry. Lauren, one of the dental hygienists on the team, can be found at the Hinman Dental Meeting in Atlanta, Georgia, each year expanding her knowledge to provide exceptional patient care. And Miranda, another fabulous dental hygienist and a part of our team, has pursued courses such as Six-Month Smiles and Invisalign, as well as training in CAD/CAM technology.

By utilizing modern technology, we are able to provide both faster service and an overall more comfortable dental experience. We can guarantee less pain during procedures thanks to modern tools such as lasers and ergonomic equipment.

The dental industry has been transformed by leaps and bounds since your time in the chair as a child; especially if you were subjected to the orthodonture machine in 1952. Your experience today can be infinitely less traumatic simply due to advancements in knowledge and procedural techniques.

In fact, every piece of equipment in the office has been designed to allow us to do the best job possible as quickly and as pain-free as possible. Modern equipment has been designed with the patient’s experience in mind just as much as that of the dentist using it.

Modern technology also allows us to provide a far safer dental visit. Modern lasers damage less tissue, create incisions that are able to heal faster than those from a scalpel, and can even eliminate the need for sutures. X-ray technology has improved as well and has gone digital. This means that we can get faster, clearer images while exposing you, the patient, to less radiation.

A whopping 80% of Americans have some anxiety when it comes to receiving dental treatment, and 5-14% of them feel intense anxiety during their visit.

We realize that for many, the dentist office isn’t their favorite place to be. In fact, for some, it can be a source of crippling anxiety.

At Family Dentistry of Edgefield, we prioritize our patient’s comfort above all else because that’s what matters to us most. Each member of our team entered the dental field because they deeply care for the wellbeing of others.

We will always do our very best to help you work through any anxiety you may have while in our chair. Your health is our priority!

First impressions are important. Your environment can affect your mood, stress levels, and sociability. That’s why we’ve created a soothing yet welcoming office environment.

When designing the office we were sure to include relaxing colors such as you might find in nature, plenty of natural light, and home-like decor. You can take a virtual tour of our office here to see for yourself.

You will always find that our team is ready to welcome you with a friendly smile. We love what we do and enjoy coming into the office each day. We hope to impart some of that joy and appreciation to you as a patient during your time here in our office.
